What is a flower frog?

It’s a spiky floristry tool, a sustainable alternative to flower foam, which allows you to personalise your blooms with sculptural precision.

Where are flower frogs from originally?

Despite their increasing popularity lately, flower frogs have existed in Japan since the 14th century as a tool to style minimalist ikebana arrangements.

What flowers can I use with my flower frog?

Any and all. If it’s got a stem, it’s a go-er.

How does the flower frog work?

There are many types of flower frogs, but we prefer metal pin frogs due to the fact they feature multiple pins that help keep each stem perfectly in place.

How do I use a flower frog?

Place your frog in a water-filled vase, dish or jar. Pierce stems into place using the frog’s upward spikes. Green stalks are (extra) easy, but woody twigs also work – simply cut a criss-cross into their tips before-hand, if needed. We recommend replacing the water every day to keep your masterpiece alive and thriving.

Will my flower frog make my displays die more quickly?

Absolutely not! In fact, perhaps surprisingly, flower frogs can help your plants live for longer – allowing them to drink more water with improved airflow and reduced bacteria buildup.

Will my flower frog rust?

Not if it’s from Freddie’s. Our flower frogs are made from brass, making the likelihood of rusting impossible.
