Testimonials

My residents now understand what different types of flowers they are using and how to arrange the flowers. I believe flower arranging is a very powerful therapeutic activity, it acts as a holistic intervention, stimulating physical, mental, emotional, and social well-being for elderly residents, including those living with dementia. I’ve been working as the Events and Entertainment Coordinator for over two years now, and this is now one of our favourite workshops going.

The group followed instructions and their arrangements were praised and admired by others. It was a very comfortable atmosphere, with lots of chat among the residents.

My final memory is of a male resident saying it had been his best afternoon in ages. When asked where he would like his flower display to be placed, he said “My bedroom, It’s mine!”

The sessions went wonderfully and the residents thoroughly enjoyed them. The guidance and support made such a positive difference and it was truly appreciated by both the residents and the team. It’s given both myself and my team the confidence to facilitate flower arranging sessions independently.

Residents reflected on the joy of arranging flowers in their own homes - a cherished ritual that brought warmth, creativity and connection. Each workshop is tailor-made to evoke moments of reminiscence, artistry, and joy - reminding us that the beauty of life is in the small things we once loved, and can still enjoy today.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Floral Wellbeing Programme?

The Floral Wellbeing Programme is a structured flower arranging programme for care homes. It includes seasonal flower deliveries, an equipment starter pack and guidance to run engaging, sensory-led sessions that support resident wellbeing.

Who can run the flower arranging sessions?

Any care home staff or activity coordinator can run the sessions. No experience is needed. With each delivery, both residents and staff learn a little more about flower arranging and the stems, gradually building confidence and knowledge on both sides. Our starter pack and guidance make it simple to deliver enjoyable, confidence-building activities.

How often are the flowers delivered?

Deliveries can be scheduled weekly, fortnightly, or monthly to fit your care home’s activities calendar. Regular deliveries help maintain a consistent rhythm of engaging sessions and allows residents to build up skills and confidence, understanding the pattern of building arrangements.

How long do the flowers last?

Flowers last up to two weeks, giving residents the opportunity to enjoy arranging smaller posies in bud vases and extending the wellbeing benefits beyond the main session.

What is included in the starter pack?

Your first delivery includes: vases, arranging tools, a Welcome Book, and a Sensory Flower Glossary. Everything you need to run meaningful, structured flower arranging sessions from day one.

Is the programme suitable for residents living with dementia or Alzheimer’s?

Yes. The idea for our floral wellbeing programme was born out of our charitable partnership with Dementia Adventure. The programme is designed to be inclusive and flexible, supporting residents of all abilities. Activities are sensory-led and structured to encourage engagement, reminiscence, and social interaction.

Can the programme be used across multiple care homes or locations?

Yes. The programme can scale to single homes or larger care groups. Deliveries and guidance can be tailored to each location to ensure a consistent, impactful experience.

How much does the Floral Wellbeing Programme cost?

Pricing varies depending on the delivery frequency and number of homes receiving flowers. Each delivery is designed to allow you to run two separate sessions, making the programme cost-effective and easy to schedule.

How does the programme support meaningful engagement and inspections?

Meaningful activity is a key measure in QCQ inspections. Our programme provides structured, purposeful sessions that encourage social interaction, reminiscence, and sensory engagement, helping staff demonstrate personalised, relationship-focused care that supports emotional wellbeing and overall quality of life.
